Yet Another Semester

This time's for real, another semester had started!

There are two business modules, five IT modules and one general elective. Sometimes the way to escape the situation of still studying 8 subjects at one go is to head towards JC. Haha. The two business module are taught by the same lecturer and he's business-educated. Lecturers with different specialisation talk differently. Obviously, he tends to see things in the business perspective and that's is definitely interesting. Haha, people call this type of behaviour 职业病. I'm definitely suffering from such illnesses too.

It's also worth remarking that I can't spell out his name 'cause he threatened to sue people who talk bad about him online if he ever google out his name. Sure I didn't talk anything bad yet, but I'm a not risk-taker so I'd like insured he can't use Google on me. Yeah, Google does keyword search and not a context search! So people who knows what I'm talking about, knows!

Sad thing, the first-and-only honeymoon week had ended. I'm sure I will get more emo one so probably I will update less here. But nonetheless, it's time to get working. *with much reluctance*

Last week I went to Microsoft Auditorium for their seminar and took a picture outside the window.

View of Marina Bay from Microsoft Auditorium

Wow, it's sure a tall building and I'm only standing at two-thirds of the building! Imagine jumping down from the top... Imagine the view from the top... can't, not from the picture at least. I was desperate enough to borrow a handphone to get the picture, but it ain't fantastic as what I saw there. It's all down to the reason that the handphone doesn't have lens that's as wide as my eyes'! So probably you don't have the rush of adrenaline when you see this picture, but still you got your imagination. =)

It's easy to realise despair in happiness.
But it's tough to find hope in sadness.

Oh well, 'NUFFsaid.

Happy Birthday to You!

The thought of the start of the next semester just shun everything I could write. The stressful times are back again! *sian* Perhaps I would turn this into a birthday post instead.

So here's to the one who became part of my life: You were the one whom I turn to if I need your guidance. You could always give me the answer I was looking for and sometimes I even wonder if I could even live well without you. Well, you're part of my life already I guess. Your involvement in Blogger had spurred me to blog ever more and maybe even this post. And thanks for celebrating my birthday with your jokes for the past years!

Happy 10th Birthday, Google!

Actually it was a very belated one as Google was borned 7 September 1998. In celebration, Google actually brought back their earliest search index. Search for 'Google 2001' and perform searches like your favourite singer's new album and you won't find anything! Haha. Oh, and it's only available until this month only.

You can also check out the April Fool's jokes Google played too. There's Google Romance, Google Gulp, Google Toliet Internet Service Provider and more! It's funny to read what they wrote there, especially their claims on how it works. Haha, I wonder what were the employees thinkin'!? But it certainly had became the company's culture.

I was wondering people who are born with the star sign Libra, should I call them... Librarians? Haha! Okay since this a birthday post, I should wish the librarians or the 'Libra-people' a happy birthday, smiles! =)

Saying Something Else

I was trying to blog something but it's really hard to put it in words so I put it away into Davy Jones' Locker. In the end, my end product is this line of text. Haha.

Oh well, then there's nothing to say here already. But I gotta squeeze something here to show my effort to write a proper entry!

Hmm, oh I got one!

There was a blog that was very funny. Well, funny in terms of that I actually chuckled at it. So that blog posts a comical drawing, drawn by the author, about a self-created superhero every entry. The funny point about it is that the new superhero will vanquish the previous superhero because the "stronger" one would have a trait or ability that the "weaker" one cannot tahan! Haha.

Here's three of them in sequence:

Mr. Ben Soilerocks-Hyde - Hours and hours of dry conversation.

was vanquished by...

Hyuky Laffenjoke - Can find hilarity in any story!

and was vanquished by...

The Ring Leader - So underpays Clowns that they become incapable of joy.

I purposely find the one that have something to do with clowns. Haha. So the blog's called The Superest. Wonder who defeated The Ring Leader?

Hmm, so I predicted you're probably still listening to track one of my playlist. That is if you did switch your speakers, never stop or pause MediaStation, read my post in my expected reading speed, and you haven't doze off. Haha.

For the next song, I practically loved Jay Chou's falsetto in 《乔克叔叔》, 'cause I can sing that part. HAHA! Although final song title could very well be tentative and a mystery, it's better to have a decent related name than me calling it 《歌曲编号 三七二十一》.

Haha. Okay, the next thing I'm saying isn't going to be very related because of sudden last-minute change in my playlist to feature Lin Jun Jie's new song and I liked 'Uncle Joker' better so gotta take the other one out. However, I did wrote quite an amount about it and I don't wanna just 'backspace' it. So check out that song somewhere else like the infamous imeem.

Alright, the next song 《魔术先生》 starts with a really lame "magic trick". You can listen and rate its lame index but that's not the thing I wanna do now! Haha. My sister was listening to this song (including the joke together) many times and she spotted a big mistake in the joke!

Jay Chou was playing piano and G-Power offered to teach him a magic trick. He accepted it but continued to play the piano. But G-Power wants him to stop playing the piano and pay attention and he goes on to describe the 'elephant' trick and Jay followed along. Later G-Power requested some music and Jay start to play his piano again. Then G-Power finished his trick and he said Jay now looks like an elephant!

Hah-

So here's the million-dollar question: If Jay continued to play the piano, how is he going to hold his nose with his left hand, place his right hand through his left hand and get tricked?

My initial reaction was a ya-hor expression. Could that be a potentially overlooked, erm... overlistened logical mistake? I actually think it is, or is there some magic going on? Haha.

Home's Sweeter

A few days ago, my distant cousin from Taiwan sent me a song. He wanted me to listen to it and give him comments whether it's up to standard to release as his new single in his new album. Well after listening, I find it's all good and his style, so I said yes.

And he did!

Okay, the above was purely fictional and any similarity in terms of real life scenario or anyone is purely coincidental.

Yet another exclusive, Jay Chou's new single is featured right here on `starzdropS! Hoho~ I could guess when the album's out, fans would be flooding their blogs with his music. I don't really like crowds so I could only do it when no one would! Haha.

I don't think there's any other place to listen to such undisturbed piece of 稻香, other than like... here? In another words, it's definitely better than those imeem uploads!

You can add in YouTube too.

And tudou.

And the list goes on...

EDIT: Haha. Not actually, I ran another search on imeem and more copies like mine appeared already. Looks like I'm still slower and there's still smart peeps in the world after all. *sobs*

EVEN MORE EDITS: Crap! The album was released on internet already! For all the hard work I've put in to make this hybrid mix! I edited one okay! *agitates* Haha. No problem actually, let's have it before majority does then.

Alright, perhaps here is where fans stop reading. Oh well, but I'll still continue.

Oh, F1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix is gonna start this weekend! But I don't get hyped up after watching the practice session. And I told my sister how people actually could spend a few hundred bucks just to witness the Doppler shift in action. Haha! They say great minds think alike, even MM Lee find little excitement in it.

An excerpt from 14 August 2008 TODAY papers:

“I find very little excitement in it. They wheel around and around, and it’s over. And there’s an accident – so what? But I’m told there is tremendous excitement in the way you get the cars, the way you change wheels, the way you drive, and so on,” he said, drawing chuckles from the audience.

Maybe I'm watching on television, that's why. My father says the sound made by the cars are really loud there. But home sweet home, just get some high-end sound system and speakers set up and you're in the race yourself! I hope it's more exciting during the Sunday race. Well, in terms of the crashes. That's devious I know, but that's what really make the news footage. =X

Anyway just a few weeks ago, I was deeply troubled over what I wrote and who read them. Perhaps I understand some people who switched over to LJ or just want to have a secret blog. I heard LiveJournal have this function to lock posts so only restricted people have access.

Sounds really cool but I won't switch over to it. I'm still a Google supporter after all! That's not because Google giving out 12 million dollars for world-changing ideas, but I haven't seen people using LJ to have more customisable layouts like Blogger.

Digression aside and main point, I wanted to start another blog. A secret one. I actually even came up with a "codename" for it, `starzdropShadow. And I even go and search up for a word that is good to describe it.

Oh, silly me. If anyone is thinking critically now, they might wonder that if that guy is having a secret or very personal blog, why is he announcing it? I would say it's not going to be a train-up session for your Google search skills, because there is no such thing that exists. It's only a concept. Not to mention that eminent Albert Einstein always believed in unification, so I shouldn't be having anything more than one.

Because what can be seen, no one actually sees it.

Keeping Track of My Words

Do you ever had a feeling that you told someone something, but you aren't sure if you actually said it?

Sounds complicated. But if I were to make it sound simpler, my flawed grammar would give away. But here goes again: There's something and you told many people about it and you lost track of whom you said to?

Because I'm trying to do something like this now and I'm very sure it was lying around somewhere in the archives. But I just want to rephrase it again! Haha. Even Hollywood producers remake old movies, so I should rephrase my posts too.

It had always been like that! When I'm having school, there's almost an Everest to talk about. But things are so fast-paced that I can't find my composure to do such literature! Now it's holiday-time and there's not much to write. Actually, there's a couple and a couple AND a couple of things to say. Erm, okay there's like six of them? But I think I need the sparks to get them lighted again.

Now here's something that I concocted last year and haven't told many people about it and I still can keep good track of it. 2 person to be exact. One is my sister, who got a great laugh at it. Another one eh, not sure the exact name, but she doesn't have much reaction to it. Oh well! Haha. =/

There's 3 things that a person just shouldn't be asking:

不能问女人的年龄。
不能问男人的薪水。
不能问学生的成绩。

This is simply the taboos of modern society! And that's 'NUFFsaid!

I'm trying to find my definition.

And I just love to be equivocal.

Defining a New Version

It's been a while.
I know I shouldn't kept you waiting.
But I'm here now...

To start with, I'm not really into electropop. But starting `starzdropS v7.2 with those words are just simply to good to resist! Haha. Anyway, it's some time since MediaStation got pumpin' some beats!

In Version 7.2, there are "seven-ral" minor changes that only seventh sense can tell. But the two notable changes can be seen and heard. Yet it's not really that obvious.

The one that could be seen isn't shown... yet.

The one that could be heard isn't audible... to me at least.

MediaStation just got the power to display non-English characters! Nah, it's small issue actually but that's the very reason why there's no Mandarin songs all these while! Hanyu Pinyin not very nice you know!?

And MediaStation ventures into the realm of High-Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding! It's actually just another name for MP4 with SBR. But I reckon I'm getting bad on hearing, I could hardly spot differences.

Is there a magical way to improve my English?

The Blitz of Instant Messaging

"Instant messaging are meant to be brief and simple. Else, I would have wrote an e-mail instead."

I wonder who said that quote, though it's not the exact words. I would certainly appreciate if anyone would find out for me. Should be quite a handsome and intellectual person I believe. Although I reckon that person who said that must be trying to be funny at the time, but it does make some sense.

Indeed, SMS messages are visioned to be short and straightforward. That's why there's a limit on the number of characters in a message. Actually I think it was technical constraint or just plain wierd standards and specifications. If you ever had to send an SMS but it exceeds the character limit and span over two or even more SMS, you could have called instead.

Perhaps, I can guess why it's easier to SMS although pressing the keypad isn't a fun thing to do, for me at least. SMS is a much passive way to communicate and definitely less demanding in terms of attention. On the other hand, calling someone requires the party's immediate attention and you could almost certainly get the reply fast. So better save those for emergency instead!

Not just SMSes, tagboard messages are supposed to be short and sweet too. If you exceed 15 words, you're probably being too long-winded already. Imagine a message that goes, "hey.. so long nv update alrd, den finally updated u post everything together! split them up lah den easier to read mah! haha.."

Okay, that was sort of exaggerated. Haha.

Anyway, computers and electronic devices can only do so much, and there's no chance your body language is going to send through with those simple messages. The most primitive way of communication is lost, and the only thing you could count on is the words.

Fortunately, words do have something else and that's the tone! If you make a message too short, it isn't sweet anymore. It lacks the emotions and, in my opinion, turn a message or reply seemed cold. The sender might be imagined to be impatient and irritated. Hmm, could it be just me? That I guess, could potentially create misunderstanding.

Maybe, that's why I find conversing on Messenger seemed a chore sometimes?

But emoticons could help. A lot! It need not be pictorial, a simple =) suffice in defining the message's intent. However, don't over-use the pictorial form of it 'cause it could really turn out to be an eye-sore sometimes.

What a boring thing I'm talking about, even I yawned. >.< Why did I start this in the first place arh? Beats me.

Perhaps I'm just being random I guess. Haha.
